Baseball Game Preview: Westview Wildcats vs. Beaverton Beavers

For the second straight game, Westview will face off against Beaverton. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Westview took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Beaverton 14-2. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Brody Rogers and Will Klein did most of the damage at the plate: Rogers went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Klein went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Klein is becoming a predictor of Westview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 9-12 when he doesn't). Pi Barker was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Beaverton's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Westview, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-13.
