Baseball Recap: Kodiak Comes Up Short

Kodiak lost against South Anchorage back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines.

Ejler Durand and Cole Barkemeyer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Durand scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Barkemeyer went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Zeke Saltonstall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Kodiak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for South Anchorage, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kodiak will square off against Wasilla at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Anchorage, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Colony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
