Volleyball Recap: Redding Christian Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Redding Christian and St. Vincent de Paul squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Redding Christian had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Mustangs. Considering the last time the Lions couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

While Redding Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Amilee Edwardson paced Redding Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Edwardson got some help from Kamalia Mizuta and her 13 assists. Finally, Audrey Mini kept Redding Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

St. Vincent de Paul can attribute much of their success to Sam Sarlatte, who had 16 digs and four assists. Sarlatte is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Redding Christian and nudges their season record down to 24-10-3. As for St. Vincent de Paul, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-15.

Redding Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they will venture away from home to square off against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
