Redford Union is 9-1 against Melvindale since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Redford Union Panthers take on the Melvindale Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Redford Union didn't have too much trouble with Mumford as they won 53-39. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Mustangs are ranked 575th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

While Melvindale didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Allen Park 53-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Melvindale's record now sits at 7-2. As for Redford Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Redford Union strolled past Melvindale in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 62-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redford Union since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
