Basketball Game Preview: Kempsville Chiefs vs. Landstown Eagles

Kempsville hasn't had much luck against Landstown recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Kempsville ended up a good deal behind Green Run and lost 66-52.

Meanwhile, Landstown humbled Bayside with a 66-35 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Kempsville better keep an eye on Alonzo Martinez. He was instrumental in Landstown's win, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Zaevion Cleveland, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points.

Landstown's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Kempsville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Kempsville came up short against Landstown when the teams last played back in February, falling 69-65. Can Kempsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
