Baseball Recap: Union Grove Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Union Grove waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Beloit Memorial Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Union Grove got a great performance from Kevin Brau as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Brau a new career-high.

At the plate, Union Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Reesman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Reesman a new career-high. Drew Dinauer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Union Grove's record now sits at 11-5. As for Beloit Memorial, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Union Grove by a score of 6-0 later that day.
