Basketball Recap: Central Christian Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

If CrossPointe Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Central Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Rocky Steidinger. The Central Christian Crusaders blew past the CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers 61-37 on Tuesday thanks in part to Steidinger, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 38 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Central Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Carper, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Those seven rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Central Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for CrossPointe Christian Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Central Christian will head out to take on Praise Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Praise Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Central Christian likes a good challenge. As for CrossPointe Christian Academy, they will challenge The Forest School at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
