Basketball Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose lost against Ridgeway back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Melrose Golden Wildcats took a hard 52-34 fall against the Ridgeway Roadrunners.

Ridgeway had a senior duo take command as McKenzie Jackson went 6 of 7 en route to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals and Le'Khya Gray dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zaria Crosby, who posted four points and four steals.

Melrose's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ridgeway, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

The future could be bright for both Melrose and Ridgeway: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Melrose will look to extend Hamilton's eight-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Ridgeway will try to hand Power Center Academy their ninth-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
