Basketball Recap: Richwoods Finds Home Court Redemption Against Champaign Central

There's no place like home for Richwoods, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Champaign Central Maroons by a score of 44-34 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Champaign Central still got an impressive performance from Alex Parastaran, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Amina Robinson was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Richwoods' win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Champaign Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

The future could be bright for both Richwoods and Champaign Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Richwoods will try to hand Peoria their ninth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Champaign Central will try to hand Rantoul their tenth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
