Football Recap: Brooklyn Anderson Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

McHenry had won three straight at home, but on Monday they bumped up to 7-3 to make it four. They managed an 18-14 victory over the Antioch Sequoits. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 18-12 win the Sequoits walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

McHenry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Anderson led the charge by throwing for 155 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 95 yards on only eight carries. Those 95 rushing yards gave Anderson a new career-high. Addison Hoffman was in the mix too, providing McHenry with two scores.

As for Antioch, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. Despite 141 more yards than McHenry, the Sequoits couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Several Sequoits players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abbigail Fuesting, who rushed for 155 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Fuesting posted at least 155 rushing yards in the third games prior. Another player making a difference was Tanner Ludwig, who threw for 191 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81% of her passes.

McHenry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-20 loss against Cary-Grove on the 23rd. As for Antioch, they will challenge Wauconda at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
