Soccer Game Preview: Powhatan vs. Midlothian

Powhatan hasn't had much luck against Midlothian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will welcome the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Powhatan is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to Cosby. While losing is never fun, Powhatan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Cosby are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Midlothian didn't have quite enough to beat Collegiate on Monday and fell 2-1. The loss was Midlothian's first of the season.

Powhatan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Midlothian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Powhatan couldn't quite get it done against Midlothian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
