Softball Recap: Gonzales Comes Up Short

If Gonzales was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Seaside last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 11-2 to the Greenfield Bruins on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-13 back in April.

Mariana Camarena was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Camarena is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Alizah Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles.
