Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, New Prairie couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the NorthWood Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Colton Griffiths was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, New Prairie saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

New Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for NorthWood, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-12.
