Basketball Recap: Wilkinson County Comes Up Short

Wilkinson County lost against Hancock Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wilkinson County Warriors lost 42-20 to the Hancock Central Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since January 4th.

Hancock Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Key'Nya Scott led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Scott a new career-high in assists (two). Neela Lamar was another key player, putting up 15 points along with seven boards and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilkinson County and nudges their season record down to 4-17. As for Hancock Central, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Wilkinson County will venture away from home to square off against Treutlen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hancock Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
