Lincoln let Nicholas Chiu and Dexter Palmer run wild. Chiu went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Palmer went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lincoln is undefeated when Chiu posts two or more runs, but 10-15 otherwise. Jeremiah Arriola was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Stevenson was able to grind out a solid win over Torres on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2.
Phinn Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Thomas wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Brady Mugan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Stevenson's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 17-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lincoln has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stevenson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
