Mitchell dropped down to 13-5 on Tuesday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins. They lost  3-0 to the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles. Considering the last time the Kernels couldn't score was  back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.
 Charleigh Collins paced Mitchell's offense, picking up eight kills. Collins got some help from  Addie Siemsen and her 21 assists.  Cassidy Korzan controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
As for Aberdeen Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9. The  win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Mitchell: they've now won nine in a row.
 Aberdeen Central was led to victory by  Taylin Kleffman and  Kalli Huff.  Kleffman  had six  digs and three  aces, while  Huff  had ten  digs. That's the most  aces  Kleffman has posted since back in September.  Lauryn Burckhard also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
 Mitchell and Aberdeen Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. The Kernels will  challenge  Tea  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday with a big rank  advantage  (11 vs. 70). Meanwhile,  Aberdeen Central (ranked 15th) will meet Pierre T.F. Riggs (ranked 78th)  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
