Basketball Recap: Southern Valley Beats Centennial for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Southern Valley extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Adi Hunt. The Southern Valley Eagles took down the Centennial Broncos 47-30 on Thursday thanks in part to Hunt, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 18 points and five steals. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Vanesa Aguayo, who posted eight points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Cheyenne Tonniges and Marley Olson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Tonniges earned ten points, while Olson put up ten points.

Southern Valley's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Centennial, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-15.

Southern Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-40 victory against Thayer Central on the 22nd. Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
