Basketball Recap: Madill Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Madill came into Tuesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 54-50 W over the Lone Grove Longhorns on Tuesday. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

Leading Madill to victory were Jagger Rogers and Ryan Anderson. Rogers almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, while Anderson posted 20 points. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Sammy Duran was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Madill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lone Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madill will welcome Kingston at 8:00 p.m. on December 17th. Madill is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Lone Grove, they will take on Wright City at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wright City will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lone Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
