Football Recap: McMichael Takes a Loss + How To Watch

McMichael's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They and the Morehead Panthers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Phoenix suffered a 13-12 defeat. The game marked the Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kai Tart threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. Ja'Keis Vernon was his top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one TD.

The critical scores for Morehead came from Judson Friese and Christian Scales.

McMichael is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Morehead, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Coming up, McMichael will square off against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' defense has only allowed 8.3 points per game this season, so the Phoenix's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Morehead, they will challenge Reidsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 35.7 points per game this season.
