Middletown came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-16 W against the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks. This was a revenge game for the Middie Bears: when they faced off against the Goldbacks back in September, they had to take a 35-0 defeat.

Middletown didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Aiden Barbosa.

Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Newburgh Free Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 6-4.

As of now, neither Middletown nor the Goldbacks have any future games scheduled.
