Basketball Recap: Penobscot Valley Takes a Loss

Penobscot Valley was the 58-48 winner over Mattanawcook when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Penobscot Valley Howlers lost 63-38 to the Mattanawcook Lynx on Monday. The Howlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Penobscot Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mattanawcook, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Penobscot Valley will take on Penquis Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mattanawcook and George Stevens Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mattanawcook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully George Stevens Academy likes a good challenge.
