Softball Recap: Arlington Beats Jackson for Their Fourth Straight Win

Arlington took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Jackson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Timberwolves on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Peyton Aanstad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Camryn Zodrow was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Eliza Andrews, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Arlington pushed their record up to 4-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Jackson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Coming up, Arlington will take on Edmonds-Woodway at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson, they will face off against Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
