Preview: Desert Christian Eagles vs. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels

The Desert Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Desert Christian came up short against Baboquivari and fell 54-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Desert Christian came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Baboquivari is ranked 191st).

Despite their defeat, Desert Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyson Dobbins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Dobbins' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jonathan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 58-30 loss at the hands of Ray. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind in their matchups with Ray: they've now lost four in a row.

Desert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, they bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Desert Christian against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 78-15 win. With Desert Christian ahead 48-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
