Softball Recap: Horace Wins Going Away Against Sheyenne

Horace made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sheyenne, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Horace blew past Sheyenne 19-4 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Horace considering their two-run performance the game before.

Austi Brandt was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Tristyn Struck, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Horace has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Sheyenne, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Horace will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grand Forks Central at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Sheyenne, they will challenge Fargo South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
