Recap: Vineland Fighting Clan vs. Bridgeton Bulldogs
If the Vineland Fighting Clan were riding high off their 59-20 takedown of the Cape May County Tech Hawks on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Vineland's rough 52-30 defeat to Bridgeton on Friday might stick with them for a while. Vineland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bridgeton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Jameel Purnell was on fire for Bridgeton: he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Zhone Burden, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Vineland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bridgeton, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vineland will take on Atlantic County Institute of Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bridgeton, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Spirit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
