Recap: Greenwood Rangers vs. Glen Rose Tigers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Greenwood Rangers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by Glen Rose on the road and fell 52-7. While losing is never fun, Greenwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while Glen Rose is ranked 278th).
Glen Rose was led to victory by Kaleb Baker and Canyon Evans. Baker picked up 180 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Evans threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Evans has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Josiah Groeneweg was in the mix too, providing Glen Rose with two touchdowns.
Greenwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Glen Rose, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Glen Rose will face off against Perryton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Perryton is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
