The Springboro Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Milford Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Springboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Springboro took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Wayne.
Kylene Seibel was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Trinity Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Milford had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Raptors 14-1. Considering the Eagles have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meghan McClellan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jesslyn Roberts was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanie McCoy, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.
Springboro's record now sits at 15-7. As for Milford, their record is now 17-3.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Springboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Springboro might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Milford when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
