Basketball Recap: Neah-Kah-Nie Skates Past Rainier with Ease

Neah-Kah-Nie won the last time they faced Rainier and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Neah-Kah-Nie Pirates took their game with ease, bagging a 70-26 victory over the Rainier Columbians. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Columbians are ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Neah-Kah-Nie and bumps their season record up to 15-8. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-19 Rainier (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.1% over those games). As for Rainier, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.

Coming up, Neah-Kah-Nie will square off against Corbett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rainier, they will welcome Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
