Newark Memorial won the last time they faced Kennedy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Ariana Romo, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Kennedy off the board.
On the hitting side, Mahlyah Sao was incredible, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Tall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Newark Memorial lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kennedy didn't launched any home runs.
Newark Memorial pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7.
