Basketball Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Layton Lancers

Weber hasn't had much luck against Layton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Weber Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Layton Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Weber knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Layton likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything went Weber's way against Fremont as Weber made off with a 72-50 win. The Warriors pushed the score to 64-37 by the end of the third, a deficit the Silverwolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Layton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Phoenix 79-56. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Weber pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Layton, they are also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Weber couldn't quite finish off Layton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 77-74. Can Weber avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
