Baseball Recap: Adams Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakewood Park Christian on Tuesday, Adams Central came back down to earth. The Jets fell just short of the Blackford Bruins by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Jets have suffered since April 10th.

Adams Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colston Pruitt, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Adams Central has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Blackford, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.

Adams Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-5 win against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on the 22nd. As for Blackford, they have also already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Muncie Burris on the 28th.
