Basketball Recap: Community School of Naples Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Community School of Naples Seahawks lost to the Miramar Patriots on the road by a 78-61 margin. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Patriots are ranked 77th).

Miramar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Siah Blot, who went 7 of 9 en route to 21 points along with five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Martell Smith, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points along with five boards and five steals.

Community School of Naples' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Miramar, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Community School of Naples didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-41 victory against IMG Academy Gray on the 3rd. Miramar has also already played their next game, a 55-47 win against St. Brendan on the 3rd.
