Preview: Cocoa Tigers vs. Hope Academy Trojan Tigers
Having just played yesterday, the Cocoa Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Cocoa scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 90-60 win over Celebration. That 90-60 margin sets a new team best for Cocoa this season.
Travon Graves continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corey Peterson , who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Hope Academy entered their tilt with Four Corners with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Hope Academy blew past Four Corners 89-53 at home. The result was nothing new for Hope Academy, who have now won five matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Hope Academy found their leader in underclassman Dwayne Foreman III, who scored 23 points along with six assists and four steals. The contest was Foreman III's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Xavier Shine was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
The win got Cocoa back to even at 2-2. As for Hope Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Wednesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Cocoa have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Hope Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 27.2 rebounds per game. Given Cocoa's sizeable advantage in that area, Hope Academy will need to find a way to close that gap. Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
