After a string of three wins, Sevier County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Jefferson County Patriots by a score of 4-3. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Sevier County came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Jefferson County are ranked 90th).

Sevier County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-2. As for Jefferson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8-2 record this season.

Sevier County will face off against Hardin Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson County, they will be playing at home against Bearden at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
