Football Game Preview: Kirby Cougars vs. Haywood Tomcats + How To Watch

The Kirby Cougars will head out to challenge the Haywood Tomcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Haywood heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Kirby took over last week. The Cougars walked away with a 20-12 win over Fayette Ware on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Haywood). They blew past Ridgeway, posting a 65-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Tomcats, who have now won four contests by 37 points or more so far this season.

Kirby's record is now 6-3. As for Haywood, their record now sits at 7-2.

Kirby was taken down by Haywood 44-6 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
