Basketball Game Preview: Coral Reef Barracudas vs. Dr. Krop Lightning

The Coral Reef Barracudas will head out to square off against the Dr. Krop Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coral Reef has five straight wins, Dr. Krop has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Coral Reef is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Southwest 54-52.

Among those leading the charge was Corey Gellineau, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Pozzo, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Dr. Krop played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Sports Leadership & Management, falling 88-47. The Lightning were down 77-41 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Coral Reef's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Dr. Krop, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coral Reef came up short against Dr. Krop when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 69-59. Thankfully for Coral Reef, Joseph Washington (who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
