La Villa hadn't done well against Santa Maria recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went the La Villa Cardinals' way against the Santa Maria Cougars as the La Villa Cardinals made off with a 55-31 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Herlinda Rivera was her usual excellent self, putting up 25 points. Keyana Garza was another key player, posting six points.
