Coxsackie-Athens extended their winning streak  to three  on Friday, bumping their season record up to 9-3 in the process. They came out on top against the Albany Falcons by a score of  8-3. The Riverhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.
Coxsackie-Athens got a great performance from  CJ VanAlphen as he  struck out nine batters over  5.2 innings while giving up  three earned runs off   eight  hits (and not a single walk). VanAlphen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Andrew Sager was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Neil Murphy, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  RBI.
As for Albany, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record  this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by  exactly five  runs.
On Albany's side,  Seamas LeBuis was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits.
 At the plate, Albany saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Aidan Creamer, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run. That  stolen base marked the first that  Creamer has  snagged this season.
 Coxsackie-Athens has  already played their next  contest (against Broadalbin-Perth), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Albany, they will venture away from home to  face off against Amsterdam  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
