Brewer can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 win over the Rogers Pirates. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brewer found their leader in sophomore Hannah Morrison, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Keylyn Stapler, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Brewer's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Rogers, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Brewer and Rogers could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Brewer (ranked 298th) will meet Arab (ranked 71st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rogers (ranked 252nd) will meet Wilson (ranked 92nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
