Basketball Recap: Universal Academy Comes Up Short

Universal Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 53-38 bruising from the Lutheran Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Yakobe, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Luke Perez, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Universal Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lutheran, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.

Universal Academy will host Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lutheran, they will venture away from home to take on Parkway Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
