Volleyball Recap: Rhiannon Rey-Montoya and Esperanza Martinez Secure Win for Tucumcari

Tucumcari's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Newcomb Skyhawks as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Rattlers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Skyhawks, too.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-11.

Tucumcari was led to victory by Esperanza Martinez and Rhiannon Rey-Montoya. Martinez had nine digs and four aces, while Rey-Montoya had 20 assists and four digs. That's the most aces Martinez has posted since back in August. Melanie Lisabelle also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Tucumcari now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Newcomb, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Tucumcari has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Estancia on the 20th. As for Newcomb, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against To'hajiilee on the 20th.
