Preview: Bison Cardinals vs. Takini Skyhawks

The Bison Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Takini Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Bison is ranked 143rd, while Takini is ranked 144th).

After a string of four wins, Bison's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 62-41 defeat at the hands of Wakpala.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rylee Veal, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 43.9% of Bison's points, marking the 17th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Stadler, who scored six points along with six steals.

Meanwhile, Takini scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Flandreau Indian 90-54 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bison's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Takini, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Bison came out on top in a nail-biter against Takini in their previous matchup last Saturday, sneaking past 70-67. Does Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Takini turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
