Football Recap: Del Rio Takes a Loss

Del Rio extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-7. They had to suffer through a 48-10 loss at the hands of the United Longhorns. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 814th, while the Longhorns are ranked 287th).

As for United, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

United's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colt Lozano, who picked up 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Lozano's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 receiving yards. Aaden Ochoa was in the mix too, providing United with two scores.

Del Rio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 28-10 loss against United South on the 17th. As for United, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-35 defeat against Medina Valley on the 17th.
