Softball Recap: Otsego Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Otsego prevailed. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Wyoming Wolves on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Lingbeek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Lingbeek was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alyvia Farrell and Addy Lucas did most of the damage at the plate: Farrell fired off three triples, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-5, while Lucas got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Mikayla Bateman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Otsego kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win (which was Otsego's third in a row) raised their record to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Wyoming, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Otsego will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair will be back at it again later today.
