Basketball Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Thatcher Eagles
Benson lost against Thatcher back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Benson Bobcats had to suffer through a 71-42 loss at the hands of the Thatcher Eagles.

Benson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Judd, who posted seven points and four steals. Judd is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Domonik Villa was another key player, putting up 13 points.
Even though they lost, Benson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thatcher only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Isaac Palmer was nothing short of spectacular for Thatcher: he shot 5-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Palmer a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists.
Benson now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Thatcher, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Benson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-50 loss against The Gregory School on the 11th. As for Thatcher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-42 win against Show Low on the 10th.
