Soccer Game Preview: Taft vs. Kennedy

The Taft Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Kennedy Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Kennedy will have to contend with a Taft team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since December 21. Taft fell just short of Shafter by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Kennedy fell victim to Wasco and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 863rd, while the Tigers are ranked 388th).

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-4. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-4.
