Soccer Game Preview: Longview vs. West Mesquite

The Longview Lobos will square off against the West Mesquite Wranglers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Longview is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Longview had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Cleburne on Saturday. The Lobos never let the Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The match marked Longview's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Mesquite). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Mesquite on Tuesday. The game was the first time West Mesquite have beaten Mesquite on their pitch since January 7, 2020.

Longview's win bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for West Mesquite, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-2.

Longview skirted past West Mesquite 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wranglers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
