Volleyball Recap: Wabash Comes Up Short

If Wabash was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Caston on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Apaches fell just short of the Rochester Zebras by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Apaches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Zebras apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Wabash took Rochester into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 19-25, 22-25, 15-10.

Bryleigh Boggs paced Wabash's offense, picking up 30 kills. Boggs got some help from Mya Whitaker and her 27 assists. Olivia Dillon and Josie Bakehorn kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Leading Rochester to victory were Logyn Honkomp and Rilyn Strasser. Honkomp had 15 digs, while Strasser had ten digs. Those 15 digs gave Honkomp a new career-high. KayLea Mccarty also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Wabash's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Rochester, their record is now 8-14.

Wabash has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Lewis Cass on the 2nd. As for Rochester, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Winamac on the 2nd.
