Preview: Gulfport Admirals vs. St. Martin Yellow Jackets
Gulfport is 2-8 against St. Martin since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gulfport Admirals will head out on the road to challenge the St. Martin Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Gulfport will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 155th, while St. Martin is ranked 33rd).
Last Saturday, Gulfport beat Magee 53-42. The win was just what Gulfport needed coming off of a 50-20 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, St. Martin didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pensacola on Monday, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Martin.
Gulfport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-15 record this season. St. Martin's record is now 16-5.
Gulfport was dealt a bruising 69-27 loss at the hands of St. Martin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Gulfport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
