Softball Game Preview: Jones Eagles vs. Senn Bulldogs

The Jones Eagles will face off against the Senn Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jones knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Senn likes a good challenge.

If Jones beats Senn with 18 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over Rickover Naval on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Delaney Treccia, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Treccia is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jamilette Hernandez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Jones kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Senn lost 18-4 to Jones on Monday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jones pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Senn, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Everything went Jones' way against Senn in their previous meeting on Monday, as Jones made off with an 18-4 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
